Embassy of Spain Australian Young Artistsī Scholarship
- The Embassy of Spain Australian Young Artistsī Scholarship was instituted in 2002 as a joint venture between the Embassy of Spain in Australia and the ANU School of Art.
- Its main objective is to offer young and talented Australian artists the opportunity to visit Spain and immerse themselves in its culture by visiting cultural institutions and other relevant organizations relating to their area(s) of interest with views to fulfilling the terms of their study tour.
- The Embassy of Spain is pleased to announce that the fourth edition of the Scholarship is open to School of Art graduates this year.
- The Scholarship will enable the recipient to undertake a study tour in Spain next year, organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Spain, for research related to their artistic practice. The Scholarship consists of a return airfare to Spain, the mounting of an exhibition of selected works by the artist at Embassy premises and a complementary amount to help with expenses in Spain.
- The recipient will be notified at the award ceremony at the Graduating Studentsī Exhibition. On return to Australia, the recipient will be invited to give a short presentation about his/her experiences at the award ceremony of next yearīs Embassy of Spain Australian Young Artistsī Scholarship.
Selection Panel
- Director (or Delegate), two Heads of Workshop, and two representatives of the Embassy of Spain.
Eligibility
- Applicants eligible to apply must have completed their Degree studies on the year they present their application
Requirements: applicants should submit:
- An artistīs statement (maximum of 300 words) clearly describing his/her intentions for the proposed travel and its relevance to his/her work
- 5-6 slides or photographs of recent work
Conditions
- The successful applicant will be asked to undertake travel within 12 (twelve) months and to give a short presentation about his/her experiences at the award ceremony of the next yearīs Embassy of Spain Australian Young Artistsī Scholarship
- The successful applicant will be assisted by the Embassy of Spain in the preparation of his/her travelling itinerary in order to maximize opportunities of engaging with Spanish cultural life relevant to his/her work.
